Writing about the new location in Castle Hayne which just opened on Castle Hayne Road. We have been waiting to try it and went Friday night. They have renovated the old space and opened it up into the adjacent store front. It's still a little tight and not long on ambiance but the food is amazing. I had the Texas fajitas which included shrimp steak and chicken. The tortillas appear to be made fresh. Portions are large. I had much more meat than guacamole salad, but it was well prepared and delivered sizzling. My wife had the skirt steak and was very happy with it. My daughter had a chicken dish which was smothered in queso which had just the right amount of heat. My son had tacos made with beef tongue- he is the adventurous eater- and ate every bite, paired with a tamarind soda. This appears to be family run - they were super friendly. Our waiter's English was not good, but we got through and he was very polite. They did not move us along and we needed to ask for the check when we were ready - once we asked we got checked out promptly. Pricing was very reasonable. All in all this is a great addition to the few restaurants in that area of town and as they get their feet under them I'm sure will only improve. We will be back as the food and friendly service is worth the trip.

Holy Mackerel! This place is delicious! The rice and beans are amazing. So filled with flavor they'll make you slap your mama. The people working there are wonderful. Smiling the whole time while they prepare a meal that will make your tastebuds grin. You need to try this place. It will quickly move to the top 10 of your favorite spots in Wilmington.

I'm always looking for good Latin food. This restaurant is delicious! The black beans are so flavorful and the rice was great. I ordered the steak quesadilla. It was served with lettuce, tomato and crumbled cheese on top as well as the rice and black beans. A great value for under $10. I will definitely be back again. I will be more adventurous in my order next time. I'm so happy to have a good Latin restaurant on this side of town!

My husband & I ate lunch here last weekend. We've seen this place for the past few months, they are where the old Tokyo Deli was, and both of us had wanted to check them out. We were on our way back into town and it seemed like a great time to stop. I'm glad we did! They don't offer complimentary chips and salsa, but we ordered some and their salsa was very good. It tasted very authentic, nothing like any of the Mexican chain restaurants in town (I like their salsa, too, but the salsa here definitely stood out to me). They don't have shrimp on the menu and their vegetarian options are minimal, that's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. My husband got veggie fajitas and I ordered a veggie quesadilla. We also ordered 2 coronas, but she brought us Modelos; we just assumed she didn't hear us correctly, or they didn't have Coronas, but later I saw someone else drinking one, lol! Oh well, the beers were cold, so we charged that one to the game. ;) Our server/cashier was very friendly. This restaurant isn't too far from my job so I will definitely check them out on my lunch break one day, and we'll probably bring the kids back one day, too. This seems like a small/family owned business so I hope they succeed and will definitely spend my money there with them.

This is definitely my go to place for authentic Honduran dishes. My recommended plate would be the chicken with plantains (Pollo con tajadas). I try multiple Honduran restaurants from surrounding areas but this by far the better one in Wilmington. Baleadas are also pretty good.

My husband ordered me steak tacos since I was at a work meeting late (I love tacos). They were pretty good. They had the traditional cilantro and onion topping with a lime wedge. I do wish I had more hot sauce (it was awesome). I'll definitely go there again. I wish I took a picture but I was starving. . .

We read about La Esquina Latín Grill opening in the Wilmington Star and thought we'd try it out. The food was good and filling. We ordered the huaraches and the sopes with a plate of maduros as a split side. Plenty of food for the two of us. We were pleased to see a good group of customers at 8:00 ish PM on a rainy Saturday night. Nice neighborhood spot with easy access from 421. Give it a try!
